Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Diversity & Inclusion

Our Most Valuable Resource

At Cinnaire, our people are our most valuable resource. We are committed to fostering and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We strive to provide an environment that empowers the authentic expression of diverse voices and celebrates a workforce that reflects the communities we serve.

Cinnaire Stands for Social Justice

Following the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and the social justice movement that ignited, Cinnaire has committed to fostering an environment of continual education and dialog on how each of us can become more actively anti-racist. Our team members are listening, learning and having in-depth conversations together and with our partners to better understand systemic racism and implicit bias.

Our Why

In the work we do, in the communities we serve, Cinnaire has a keen awareness of the need for respect, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I). It’s front and center in our Why.

Our eyes are wide open to our internal commitment to these values as well. Our people are our most valuable resource. We believe our workforce should reflect the communities we serve.

We embrace diversity and strive to create an environment where differences are celebrated and all voices are heard. We could list all the differences and similarities that we embrace and protect, but it would be a very long list. To put it simply…

“No matter who or what we are because of birth, choice or

experience, no matter how we identify or what our affinities may be,

we are accepted, accommodated, and validated by each other

and by Cinnaire as an organization.”

To say that we are stronger because of our differences is not an idle platitude. It is an inextricable part of our culture and we work hard to make sure we live up to it.

Living Our Why:
Mentoring to Support Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Keith Broadnax, Cinnaire’s Senior VP of Business Development epitomizes Cinnaire’s commitment to living our Why. He has mentored many diverse young professionals over the years, providing them the motivation and base skills to pursue a career in the community development and affordable housing industries.

In 2019, Keith began mentoring Natalee, a graduate student in Ball State’s Urban Planning department. Upon graduation, based on her experience, Natalee was a natural fit for an analyst position on Cinnaire’s Underwriting team. She credits Keith with setting her on her career path. “He was such an inspiration. I would love to bring another person of color or another woman under my wing one day and be able to teach them as I’ve been taught.”
