Sherita joined Cinnaire’s Detroit office as Vice President, Community Development, where she was responsible for implementing Cinnaire’s targeted investment strategy for Detroit by seeking out and building relationships with local partners and funders to advance Cinnaire’s Community Connection initiatives. In 2022 she was promoted to Senior Vice President, Cinnaire Community Connection, where she collaborates with all business functions to develop community development strategies across all Cinnaire businesses. She has a deep understanding of grassroots-driven community development and financing structure necessary to transform communities.
Sherita has a long history serving Detroit neighborhoods with more than 20 years of affordable housing and community development expertise. She has spent her career advocating for change to help challenged and disinvested communities become strong, vibrant places for families and businesses to thrive. Most recently, she served as executive director at Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation (GRDC), a nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the Grandmont Rosedale communities of northwest Detroit. Under her leadership, the organization stabilized its finances with multiyear funding commitments. Her areas of expertise include affordable housing, economic development and community engagement.
