The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee recently hosted the Facilitated Dialogues about racism and its effects on Black people in the United States. These sessions were facilitated by Vincent Brown and his team at VRB Consulting.  Those who participated found the dialogue to be invaluable and a great reminder about the “power of the pause.”  Valuable insight was gained as very personal reflections from our guest panelists and colleagues were shared about living while Black, and every participant committed to specific actions to ensure an anti-racist culture at Cinnaire.

As the panelists varied from session to session, the Committee wants to provide an opportunity for everyone to hear all of their stories, so we are working to assemble a video compilation of all of our panelists’ contributions to the dialogue.  Stay tuned for information about how to access these video clips.

To continue the momentum created by these dialogue sessions, the DEI Advisory Committee will be circulating a survey to solicit your feedback about the sessions.  Please take a moment to provide us your responses, even if you did not participate.  We are hopeful your feedback will help us identify areas we can begin working on quickly.

The DEI Advisory Committee is working hard and at full speed to actively engage each of us in laboring and living only in ways that are built on our values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.  It is going to take all of us to be willing to put in the work that will create the better tomorrow that we know is possible
