Develop Michigan Has Financed Community Revitalizing Projects in Michigan Totaling More than $346 Million
Develop Michigan, Inc. (DMI) announced the closing of a $3.6 million investment to support Eden on the Rouge, a 92-bed assisted living and memory care facility located in Wayne County, MI. The $23.7 million project will support a growing age population and the increased demand for long-term care and support services. The facility will also create 84 short-term and 65 permanent jobs. Groundbreaking for Eden on the Rouge will take place on June 13.
“DMI seeks opportunities to provide flexible financing to projects that fulfill a community need while spurring economic development,” said Rick Laber, DMI president. “Eden on the Rouge will not only support Wayne County’s aging population but will also provide jobs to low- and moderate-income individuals. This project will positively impact families, businesses, healthcare providers and most importantly, our senior population.”
The eighth largest county in the U.S., Wayne County has experienced steady population growth in recent years, increasing the demand for assisted living and memory care facilities to support the area aging population. Eden on the Rouge will provide housing and services for 92 individuals located within close proximity to several major health systems, including Beaumont Health, Henry Ford Hospital, Oakwood Health System and St. Joseph Mercy Health System.
Additional financing partners include Love Funding and the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). O’Brien Construction Company is serving as general contractor for the project. Lantz Boggio Architects is serving as the project architect. Antioch Plan Developers is the developer on the project, which is slated for completion in September 2020.
Eden on the Rouge will feature assisted living units with private bedrooms, a living area and private baths. The memory care wing will have studio units with private bathrooms. The project plan also lists a craft room, game room, spa room, music room, dining rooms, a commercial kitchen, and a chapel. Services consist of secure memory care, three dietician supervised meals per day, case management, transportation, assistance with medication, continuous oversight protection, and activities to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of residents.
