Cinnaire Welcomes Three New Board Members

New members will enhance board’s focus on creating healthy, vibrant communities and expanding economic opportunity for underserved peopleĀ 

Cinnaire has announced three new members have joined the organization’s Board of Directors. The new board members will provide strategic direction supporting continued growth around Cinnaire’s unwavering belief that all people deserve the opportunities to live in healthy communities.

“We have worked diligently to ensure Cinnaire’s board includes leaders in the public, business and non-profit sectors that bring a broad base of knowledge, experience and diversity to the table, and our new board members are no exception,” said Mark McDaniel, Cinnaire president and CEO. “Each of them brings a unique background and set of expertise to Cinnaire and we look forward to working together to advance equitable communities in 2021 and beyond.”

The new board members include:

Professor Roberson has over 20 years of experience teaching courses and workshops globally on diversity, leadership, and talent management. She has published over 40 scholarly journal articles and book chapters and edited aĀ Handbook of Diversity in the Workplace. Her research interests center on developing organizational capacity and enhancing effectiveness through the strategic management of people, particularly diverse work teams. Dr. Roberson is a TEDx speaker and serves on corporate boards and advisory councils globally and has been recognized as one of the most influential female scholars and scholars of color on social media around issues of responsible business.

Anne McCulloch is a Washington-DC based financial services and housing industry executive and regular attorney. McCulloch develops business responses to the regulatory and policy environment that create an immediate impact to the bottom line. She oversees all aspects of the Housing Partnership Equity Trust, a national, public purpose apartment REIT focused on preserving and maintaining affordable housing throughout the United States. She previously served as Fannie Mae’s Senior Vice President for Credit and Housing Access with responsibility for expanding Fannie Mae’s business in emerging multicultural markets and expanding consumer access to sustainable mortgage credit and affordable housing. McCulloch is currently chair of the Board of Governors for the National Housing Conference and a member of the advisory board of governors of NAREIT, Fannie Mae’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council, and the board of directors for the National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders. She has been honored by Housing Wire and Washington Business Journal as an industry and business leader.

Jeffrey Benson is President and CEO of Case Credit Union, a $350 million financial institution serving over 45,000 members. Under Benson’s leadership, in 2020 Case Credit Union was recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Michigan office as the state’s Community Diversity Lender of the Year. Benson is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accounts, National Association of Black Accountants, and Rotary International. He currently serves as a board member and/or officer on several boards in the Greater Lansing community which include Sparrow Health Systems and Capital Region Community Foundation. He also serves on the board for the Michigan Credit Union League and the National Children’s Center in Washington, D.C. Benson has been a speaker at local, regional and national conferences and has taught accounting classes at Lansing Community College. He has received numerous awards and been listed in several publications of Who’s Who in America.

Dr. Roberson and Ms. McCulloch will serve a three-year term on Cinnaire’s board. Benson will serve a two-year term.
