Cinnaire Celebrates Grand Opening at Jefferson Oaks & Woodland Place

Project Partners Work Together to Create Welcome Baskets for New Residents

Located in Oak Park, MI, Jefferson Oaks is a $17.6 million, 60-unit mixed-income community. Developed by Community Housing Network (CHN), Jefferson Oaks is on the site of the former Thomas Jefferson School building and campus, which was transformed into 20 apartment homes and eight new townhome-style buildings with an additional 40 homes. Twenty-one of the units are set aside for supportive housing. UnitedHealthCare, through a strategic partnership with Cinnaire and Minnesota Equity Fund, provided a $14.3 million investment to support the project.

Residents moving into their new apartment homes at Jefferson Oaks received a special welcome home from development partners and community leaders. Cinnaire joined UnitedHealthCare company employees and the development team to fill welcome baskets for each resident with needed household items and healthy foods.

Woodland Place provides 24-units of affordable, supportive housing for people with special needs, survivors of domestic violence and people struggling with homelessness. Developed by the Gryphon Group and Oceana County Housing Commission, the $4.2 million new community in Hart, MI, is dedicated in honor of the late Ron May, a local affordable housing advocate, who was instrumental in the development of Woodland Place. UnitedHealthCare, through a strategic partnership with Cinnaire and Minnesota Equity Fund, provided a $3.7 million equity investment to support Woodland Place.

Residents at Woodland Place enjoyed receiving the welcome baskets put together by UnitedHealthCare, Cinnaire, the development team and community leaders.
