Andres Acosta is Director, Loan Underwriting for Cinnaire Lending. He is charged with managing overall workflows to ensure loans progress through the pipeline and supervising the Loan Underwriting team as it structures affordable housing and community development loan transactions.
With more than 10 years experience in the affordable housing industry, Andres has a depth of experience reviewing complex workflows and advising stakeholders of strategies to reposition and optimize investment options. He recently served as Neighborhood and Community Investment Specialist for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), repositioning public housing properties to Section 8 supported funding and as Senior Underwriter insuring multifamily properties under the FHA program. Prior to that, he worked at the Illinois Housing Development Authority, serving as Market Analysis Coordinator and Development Officer. He also worked as a paralegal in the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.
Andres graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and the University of Illinois Chicago with a Masters in Urban Planning and Policy, Community Development.
