Cinnaire joined the Gryphon Group, Medallion Management, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), UnitedHealthcare, Senator Curtis Hertel Jr., community leaders, residents and development partners this week to celebrate the grand opening of Prestwick Village.
Located in Holt, MI, Prestwick Village is a new 66-unit affordable housing community that provides new housing opportunities and supportive services for individuals and families, including veterans struggling with homelessness and people with disabilities. The new development was built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Standards, with apartments designed to use less water and energy to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce energy costs for residents. Prestwick Village features a community center with a library, movie room, kitchen and computer lab as well as an outdoor children’s playground. Cinnaire and UnitedHealthcare provided donations to help furnish the community center, movie room and library.
Cinnaire and UnitedHealthcare provided an $8.9M Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) equity investment. Seventeen units are reserved for permanent supportive housing with services targeting homeless veterans, homeless people and people with special needs.
