Robert is Senior Vice President, Business Funding, in our Lansing, MI office. He manages investor relationships for Cinnaire’s Low-Income Housing Tax Credit funds and provides direction and coordination of the Business Funding function. Bob is highly skilled at structuring transactions in a manner that is both marketable to investors and compliant with tax, legal and regulatory considerations. He joined Cinnaire in 2015 as Vice President of Business Development and Legal Affairs where he was responsible for recruiting and managing investors in Michigan and Indiana;Â working with real estate developers on projects throughout the mid-west region; and overseeing legal claims and litigation matters involving Cinnaire Corporation, Cinnaire Solutions and Develop Michigan, Inc.
Bob has an extensive legal background, and prior to joining Cinnaire was a partner and shareholder in a large international law firm and later served as President of a regional law firm. His practice involved representation of national banking institutions, Fortune 500 companies, and corporate executives on diverse legal matters with a focus on complex real estate and construction-related litigation, including ancillary insurance issues. He was appointed Panel Counsel for the AIG Insurance Group, DPIC Insurance Companies, Travelers Insurance Group, and XL Professional Insurers. He served as Special Counsel for the World Umpires Association, the collective bargaining unit of Major League Baseball umpires, and was awarded the MLB Lifetime Pass for meritorious service by the Commissioner.
He has worked as a Federal Court Mediator and was a Commentator for the Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He is a Fellow with the State of Michigan Bar Foundation and was named a Leading Lawyer in the state.
Bob served on the Board of Directors and volunteers with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kalamazoo. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University with a Double Major in Social Science Pre-Law and Political Science and a Juris Doctor degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
