Erik is the Director, Loan Originations, in Cinnaire’s Chicago, IL office. He manages loan officers who partner with Cinnaire Community Connection markets, the Business Development team, and other stakeholders throughout Cinnaire to vet loan referrals, collaborating with potential borrowers to appropriately structure loans and provide technical assistance as needed to move loans efficiently to underwriting.
Erik joined Cinnaire as a Portfolio Manager for Community Development Lending in January 2022 where he monitored borrowing for reporting and covenant compliance, managed potential defaults and credit losses in Cinnaire’s portfolio and assisting with vetting and structuring community development loans.
Prior to joining Cinnaire, Erik had a 21-year career in commercial banking, completing credit training at the former LaSalle Bank in 2000 and progressing to work as a credit analyst, loan officer, portfolio manager, and team leader. He has worked for a variety of private and publicly traded institutions in the Chicagoland market, developing a broad background of lending experience including owner-occupied and multifamily real estate, commercial and enterprise-level lending within the developer, manufacturer, contractor, distributor, technology, and medical verticals, along with leveraged finance and correspondent lending.
Erik obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Finance and Marketing major from the University of Iowa and a Master of Business Administration with a Finance and Accounting focus from Northern Illinois University.
