Cinnaire Earns 2025 Top Workplace Award from the Detroit Free Press

Cinnaire has been named a 2025 Detroit Free Press Top Workplace, an honor based entirely on feedback from our employees. The award recognizes organizations that foster a culture where people feel supported, connected, and aligned with their mission – values that remain central to Cinnaire’s work.

The Detroit Free Press partners with Energage to identify Top Workplaces using anonymous employee surveys that measure key drivers of an exceptional workplace. The results highlight organizations where employees feel they can grow, contribute meaningfully, and work collaboratively towards shared goals. Receiving this recognition underscores the strength of Cinnaire’s culture and the dedication of the team members who bring our mission to life each day.

Cinnaire’s commitment to expanding equitable opportunities and building healthy, vibrant communities begins with supporting the people who make that work possible. Full-time employees receive a range of unique benefits designed to enhance well-being and promote work/life balance, including unlimited paid time off, an employee wellness program, a comprehensive benefits package, company paid cell phone service, and an onsite fitness center at our Lansing headquarters. Employees can choose to work from home, in an office, or a hybrid model that fits their needs.

The health and wellbeing of our staff is our top priority. Our wellness program – which includes paid gym memberships – is designed to support physical and mental wellness. An open-door policy and regular conversations with the CEO foster transparency and open community across the organization. Cinnaire also provides paid volunteer time, encouraging staff to engage in community service activities that connect directly to our mission.

This culture of service is further strengthened by Cinnaire Cares, a 100% employee-driven initiative launched in 2017. Cinnaire Cares empowers team members to support communities and nonprofit organizations through volunteer efforts and direct financial contributions. From neighborhood cleanups to hurricane relief to cash awards for mission-drive partners, employees lead the way in determining how funds and efforts are directed. Since its inception, Cinnaire Cares has raised more than $379,000 to directly support 74 organizations across our footprint.

As we continue our work in affordable housing and community development, this recognition serves as a meaningful milestone. It reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that employees feel valued, supported, and equipped to best serve residents, partners, and communities.
