Tom joined Cinnaire in 2002. As Senior Vice President of Business Development, Tom is responsible for raising and deploying capital to support housing and community development initiatives (with Michigan as his primary focus). In addition, he manages Cinnaire’s various tax credit investment programs (housing, new markets, Brownfield and historic tax credits).
Prior to joining Cinnaire, Tom directed the Michigan LISC program for 14 years. This nationwide community development finance institution provides training, technical and financial assistance to nonprofit community development corporations (CDCs). Prior to his work in Michigan, Tom served for 11 years as the urban director for the Community Design Center at the University of Colorado-Denver, assisting community groups, CDCs and neighborhood business associations improve the quality of life for residents in Denver’s distressed inner-city neighborhoods.
Tom volunteers on the boards of Michigan Rural Council, Grand Rapids Affordable Housing Community Fund, Develop Michigan, Capital Development Nonprofit Corporation and is a member of CEDAM and the REO Town Commercial Association. He earned his B.S. from Michigan State University.
